Angus was drafted to Melbourne with Pick No.3 in the 2014 National Draft and played 167 games before announcing his retirement ahead of the 2024 season. 

Some of Brayshaw's highlights in his customised Steeden helmet, which featured the Melbourne red and blue colours, included the 2021 season where he played a major part in the club's drought-breaking premiership win against the Western Bulldogs. 

Brayshaw also finished third in the Brownlow Medal count in 2018, the award for the Best and Fairest player across the entire AFL competition.
